๐Ÿงฑ Plaster Parts (Face & Plaster Body)

1
No Water at All: Plaster absorbs moisture. Even a small amount of water can dissolve the surface finish, causing the paint to peel and the shape to deform. Wipe only with a soft, completely dry cotton cloth.
2
Dust Gently: Use a soft painting brush or clean feather duster. Never rub aggressively on painted areas, especially around the eyes and lips.
3
No Chemical Sprays: Avoid room fresheners, agarbatti smoke near the face, or any chemical sprays that can discolor the organic paint.
4
Face Storage: Wrap the face in the provided sponge sheet and then in bubble wrap. Store face-up (never face-down). Label the box "FRAGILE โ€” Gauri Face".
5
Newspaper Warning: Newspaper ink transfers to plaster and permanently stains the finish. Use only acid-free tissue paper, sponge, or bubble wrap.

๐Ÿงถ Cloth Parts (Body, Hands, Legs)

1
Gentle Hand Wash Only: If cleaning is needed, use cold water with mild soap. Do NOT machine wash โ€” the sturdy filling and shape can get deformed.
2
Air Dry Only: Never use a dryer. Hang the parts in shade to air dry. Direct sunlight can fade the vibrant cloth colours.
3
Storage: Store folded (not compressed) inside a cotton bag or cloth pouch. Keep away from insects โ€” use a neem sachet nearby if storing for months.
4
Iron on Low: If the fabric is wrinkled after storage, use a cloth iron on low heat with a damp cloth between the iron and the fabric.

โš™๏ธ Metal Stands

1
Rust Prevention: After the festival, wipe the metal stand with a dry cloth. Apply a thin layer of coconut oil or machine oil on the metal joints to prevent rust during off-season storage.
2
Disassemble for Compactness: Most stands can be slightly disassembled at the key joints. This allows for compact, safe storage in a smaller box.
3
Stability Check: Before each festival use, check that all screws and lock-nuts on the stand are tight. A loose stand can cause the idol to tip over.
